Uhh...

This was supposed to be funny? Yes, I can see that it's DUMB, and that it's about the crappy sprite flashes that too many people upload over and over to NG... however, I don't see how this is any different from them.

For all I can tell, this IS just another stupid sprite movie.

CheveLoco responds:

and for all i can tell..you are just another stupid Ng user with no flash submitted...so to me your opinion means nothing..

RO is evil.

Ragnarok Online is hell in gaming format. This doesn't express the tediousness and repetitiveness of the game well enough, but it does show that tanking is the way to gain pointless levels.

On a side note, "Streamside" is an amusing song until the ghastly repetitiveness. "Ancient Groover" is RO's definite best song. Oh, how I both miss and hate Payon at the same time.

Fifteen minutes couldn't be wasted better.

You've gotta be kidding me. First of all, SPELL CACTUAR'S NAME RIGHT. Second, stop wasting your time with crap like this. The only thing I will commend you for is having a vaguely complete storyline.

The audio and animation are horrible. Filter out the background static or get a better microphone to fix the audio, and for chrissakes, learn to sync audio in flash! The minimalistic characters are horribly animated, and the backgrounds are worse than those on Ed, Edd and Eddy. Lip-synching, for the one character that actually had a mouth to move, was awful. This submission shows little to no graphical talent whatsoever.

Clearly this submission is ranked high because of all the drooling FF fans and idiots on NG who don't understand what quality is. Also, having an agonizing AYB reference is unforgivable.

On the plus side, you got me to chuckle once.

That was pretty cool.

Nice. You kept everyone in character, and the plot progressed in a good manner...

...audio be damned, though. I could hear every voice clear, but the static in the background totally blew the mood. Sorry.

Keep up the good work!

Poor Alexander

You put Alexander the Great to shame with this, but good try, nonetheless. Alexander gets me all hard just thinking about him, but lookie here, limp as silly string.

Better than that last piece of crap.

I was happy to see more effort put forth in this installment. You almost made something good! Unfortunately, all the jokes fall flat with either poor timing or poor voiceacting. Speaking of which, I couldn't stand how every line began and ended with an annoying microphone *click*.

On the good side, it was decently animated, though the backgrounds were lacking at many points. The best part was probably the lip-synching. It's hard to find good lip-synching these days. Also, a few of the characters' body movements were too mechanical, but I know that's a lot of work to fix.

Just stray away from poorly copying Seth MacFarlane's humor and you should improve a lot!

Could've been so much better.

Two things stuck out in my mind as I watched this:

1) The author needs to learn how to sync audio in flash.

2) This could've been so much better.

My main gripe is how little animation was occurring. 50% if the time it was just a character STANDING AROUND with his mouth moving. If you're going to use sprites, put some effort into it, get off your ass, do some massive editing, and MAKE THEM INTERESTING!

Congratulations, you've ruined a wonderful song for me.

FatSatan responds:

"1) The author needs to learn how to sync audio in flash"? More like, the reviewer needs to 1) get a decent computer that can run a 993kb Flash movie 2) learn how to pause and resume a Flash movie when his computer's causing the animation to lag 3) shut up.

Halfway decent. A few problems.

First of all, you gotta know the difference between streaming audio and event audio. It gets horribly off-synch for a good number of people. Also, the same voice is used with both squirrels, and the lack of lip-synching rquires one to pay attention to the squirrel moving the most to find out who's talking.

So, anyway, Foamy and another gray squirrel go nut tossing, killing two humans. Oh boy, more senseless violence guaranteed to attract both 13 year-olds AND 15-year olds. As a fellow gray squirrel, I find this to be a bad stereotype to land upon gray squirrels. Anyway, this animation is decently drawn, but doesn't really go anywhere, and the filesize is not worth it.

There wasn't anything funny in this animation, either. Any attempt at humor is merely nothing new. An airhead complaining about dying, a crazy woman in a park feeding pigeons... welcome to the humor of 1998.

Is it really that hard to come up with something good? No, no it isn't. People are just lazy. Oh well, maybe the next one in this series will be good.

For the love of God, no!!

Here's a note: 5 MEGS for 2 MINUTES is totally unacceptable.

Yes, this abomination lasts two minutes. Bowser's army attacks, fade, movie over. How the hell do people think that's so amazing?

First of all, it's been done.
Second, it wasn't good the first time.

Completely unoriginal. Try much, much harder next time.

Phantasmagoria-crow responds:

Sorry about the file size. Sorry it's such an abomination.

Wow.

Wow, that kicks much ass. Aspiring flash artists: Take notes on this clip. The animation is superb and I can tell a lot of time was spent on the still images. The way the music matches up with the scene is impressive.

However, the story falls a bit flat. Evil guy kidnaps girl for some reason, hero fights through many gang members and confronts the evil guy, then saves the girl. Generic stuff.

It feels nice to finally see something good on Newgrounds.
